Material Control Supervisor

We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing modular assemblies and complex stampings for body-in-white, drive-train, interior and seating applications for the automotive industry. We are looking for a Material Control Supervisor to join our team at our Brampton, ON facility.

Position Overview:

Ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.  Deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.  Maintain strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.  Deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements. Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management.
  • Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of clerks engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of materials, parts and products.
  • Maintain raw material and finished goods inventory and monitor cycle / physical counts.
  • Document all inventory movement, reports and resolve any discrepancies present. Ensure product availability; place regular orders to replenish inventory needs.
  • Co-ordinate with production on planning, implementation and storage of goods to ensure inventory at designate level.
  • Monitor suppliers schedule and ensure on time delivery. Assist in year-end physical count and report.
  • Ensure smooth operation of CMS – ERP system, maintain and train relevant person to do same.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
  • CMS - ERP software and all Microsoft packages including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Organization and basic office skills, including computer, data entry, and word processing skills as necessary.
