Dispatcher
Position Summary
The Dispatcher acts as a liaison to Customer Service/Inside Sales Representatives, Warehouse team including shipper/receivers and supervisors to ensure the smooth delivery of customer orders.
We’re looking for self-sufficient, motivated Dispatcher for our Pickering, ON branch located at 1080 Squires Beach Road, who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Samsara (dispatching software) to manage inbound/outbound freight
- Plan and schedule drivers efficiently, resulting in the reduction/elimination of non-revenue hours, empty miles and an increase in driver productivity
- Dispatch Drivers live with frequent communication via text and phone throughout day
- Be the front-line contact for drivers regarding scheduling and work availability
- Communicate with drivers to ensure that appointment delivery times are met
- Booking, planning and tracking the movement of customer freight
- Managing customer enquiries directly and/or with CSR’s/ISR’s to provide answers and support
- Managing phone calls, emails and in person communication
- Investigate customer complaints and accidents regarding services and policies
- Take customer orders for services and update accounts
Requirements
- Attention to detail, must have the ability to follow up on multiple tasks
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 2 years of applicable work experience in fleet coordination
- Accountable, proactive and a problem-solver
- Organized, detail-oriented – excellent follow-up skills are essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Divalto an asset
- Must be able to work flexible hours from Monday to Friday, overtime may be required and must be able to work an occasionally on weekends
- 3 years experience working in a construction or building materials environment preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
